AUTHOR’S NOTE: I have noticed a marked uptick in un-subscribers since I began sending out these daily Advent mini-dispatches. Because I don’t want to overwhelm anyone, this will be the last one sent to your inboxes directly unless the community here lets me know otherwise.

The next 10 mini-dispatches will be posted on This Numinous World (aka falsani.substack.com) daily at noon Pacific Time. Earlier daily Advent entries can be found collected under the tab Advent 2022 at the top of the website’s front page.

**If you would prefer to continue receiving these daily mini-dispatches as emails for the remainder of Advent, would you please let me know in the comments. If most of you still would like to receive them daily, I will continue to send them as emails.

However they reach you, may they continue to bless you in some small way as we move ever closer to Christmas.

UPDATE 6:20 PM PT, Thursday 12/15: I have heard from so many of you in the last few hours who prefer the direct emails for the Advent dispatches, so onward! Check your inboxes tomorrow and thank you for so many kind words.

"And if the terrors of the night
come creeping into your days
And the world comes, stealing children from your room
Guard your innocence
From hallucination
and know that darkness always gathers around the light

"There is a light you can’t always see
If there is a world we can’t always be
If there is a dark that we shouldn’t doubt
And there is a light, don’t let it go out

"When the winds screams and shouts
And the sea is a dragon’s tail
And the ship that stole your heart away sets sail
When all you’ve left is leaving
And all you got is grieving
And all you know is needing

"If there is a light you can’t always see
If there is a world we can’t always be
If there is a dark that we shouldn’t doubt
And there is a light, don’t let it go out

"Cause this is a song
A song for someone
Someone like me

"I know the world is dumb
But you don’t have to be
I’ve got a question for the child in you before it leaves
Are you tough enough to be kind?
Do you know your heart has it’s own mind?
Darkness gathers around the light
Hold on, hold on

"There is a light you can’t always see
If there is a world we can’t always be
If there is a dark that we shouldn’t doubt
And there is a light don’t let it go out"
—U2, “13 (There Is A Light)”

"Remember, I am with you always." —Jesus (Matthew 28:20)

I love the emails, but I will also go seeking them out if you decide to just post them.
