We visited Maeve as well, the day after I saw you in Sligo. I convinced the boys to descend not on the beaten path but a sheep trail. I'm still scraping shit off my hiking boots. But it was magical--all bluster as we came off the summit, and then a biblical parting of the clouds as we slipped and slid down the side of Knocknarea, the blue expanse of Sligo Bay rolling out far below. Regarding cheese, I think Maeve would get a good laugh at that story. She must've had a great sense of humor. You'd have to. And I can think of worse ways to go than having a block of cheddar winged at your head.
As a lifelong Patti Smith fan and also a fan of Taylor Swift from her first album, I highly recommend you listen to the full Tortured Poets Department Anthology. I think you will find a kindred spirit and a modern day Warrior woman!
